Sanjeev Palta, MD, FSCAI, FACC

Board Certified Interventional Cardiologist

Dr. Sanjeev Palta is a board certified interventional cardiologist with over 10 years of experience treating patients both in the hospital setting and at his outpatient offices. He trained at Cornell-Columbia Presbyterian Hospital and the State University Hospital of Brooklyn, two leading cardiovascular treatment centers. Dr. Palta currently is an Attending Cardiologist at New York Methodist Hospital and Maimonides Medical Center, and an Assistant Clinical Professor in the Department of Medicine at Mount Sinai Medical Center.  In addition to being board certified in interventional cardiology, he is credentialed in nuclear stress testing and echocardiography. Throughout his practice, Dr. Palta has been at the forefront of his field.  His research has appeared in the Journal of the National Medical Association, the Journal of Heart Valve Disease, and Circulation as well as other respected medical journals.  He has been awarded certification by the American Board of Internal Medicine.  This certification is granted in recognition of doctors with outstanding records of patient care, medical knowledge, and skills.

Having performed over 2000 invasive cardiac procedures including coronary angiograms, balloon angioplasties, and cardiac stenting, Dr. Palta’s patients know they are in trusted hands. Whether it is staying late at the office to fit in unscheduled patients or performing emergency procedures on his off time, Dr. Palta always goes the extra mile to ensure his patients receive the care they need.  In 2007 Dr. Palta was recognized by the Consumer’s Research Council of America as one of the “Best Cardiologists” in the U.S.

Vellore Padmanabhan, MD, FACC

Dr. Padmanabhan, Director of the Cardiac Catheterization Lab at Wyckoff Heights Medical Center, is the veteran cardiologist of our institution. Dr. Padmanabhan has over 30 years of medical experience.  He is well known for his work in the field of interventional cardiology and is often called upon at hospitals to consult in difficult cases.  He has trained at leading cardiovascular care centers including Baylor University Hospital, Cornell-Columbia Presbyterian Hospital, and Winthrop Hospital. Dr. Padmanabhan currently teaches and practices at Northshore University Hospital & Wyckoff Heights Medical Center. He also serves as Adjunct Associate Professor of Clinical Medicine and Aortic Regurgitation at Cornell University Medical College and Clinical Associate Professor of Medicine at New York University Medical College.

Anasuya Nagaraj, MD, FAAP

Anasuya Nagaraj is a board certified pediatrician and Assistant Professor of Pediatrics at Cornell University Medical Center.  She is also currently an attending physician with the Northshore-Long Island Jewish Health System.  Dr. Nagaraj has devoted herself to practicing in pediatrics in New York City-area hospitals for over 25 years.  She has made significant contributions to clinical pediatrics, specializing in neonatology, and has authored numerous publications for Pediatrics as well as other medical journals. She started her medical career in India at Mysore Medical College and completed her residency with the prestigious Jawaharlal Institute.  Next, she attended King George Medical College at Lucknow, earning her post-graduate degree in pediatrics while also carrying out research for the Indian Council of Medical Research.  After moving to the U.S., Dr. Nagaraj took up her pediatric residency at Harlem Hospital Medical Center and then went on to serve in fellowships for ambulatory pediatrics and neonatology.  Throughout her distinguished career, Dr. Nagaraj has applied her astute medical understanding to the tireless delivery of gentle, empathetic care for her young patients.

Breana Serrano, RCS

BreannaRegistered Cardiac Sonographer

Ms. Serrano is a registered cardiac sonographer.  She earned her certification in non-invasive cardiovascular technology at Sanford-Brown Institute before going on to get credentialed in cardiac sonography by Cardiovascular Credentialing International.  She takes joy in ensuring each of her patients has a comfortable, worry-free testing experience by providing each with friendly, gentle care.  



Solai Buchanan MS, RD, CDN, CDE


Solai Buchanan is a licensed registered dietitian with advanced training in adult weight management. She is also a Certified Diabetes Educator.  She earned her BA in Biology from Swarthmore College and received her RD and MS at Columbia Teachers College. She honed her clinical skills at New York State Psychiatric Institute, St. Luke’s Obesity Research Center, and Kingsbrook Jewish Medical Center. Ms. Buchanan has become experienced in all aspects of cardiovascular nutrition, working with clients managing a range of health challenges including hypertension, elevated blood cholesterol, diabetes, polycystic ovarian syndrome, hypothyroidism, pulmonary diseases, and cardiovascular diseases. 

Ms. Buchanan understands that the path to developing a healthier food and activity lifestyle is different for each individual. She works with each client to assess food & activity patterns and devise realistic ways for him/her to develop the behaviors and coping skills necessary for healthy weight management.  She knows that to effectively support her clients’ nutrition needs, they must learn not only how to make changes in the short-term, but also how to sustain lasting behavioral changes. Her goal is to enable each individual to develop the dietary and lifestyle habits as well as the coping skills necessary to achieve and maintain a healthy weight over the long-term.

Vidya Palta, MD (Allied provider)

Dr. Palta is a board certified physician in reproductive endocrinology and fertility and an active member of the American Society for Reproductive Medicine.  Her practice’s high levels of fertility success, affordable rates, and can-do no-nonsense attitude, make her a favorite of her patients.  They know they can trust her to do her all to help them succeed.   In 2008, Dr. Palta was honored with the Patients’ Choice Award.

In training to be a fertility specialist, Dr. Palta studied under some of the leading experts in the quickly evolving field of fertility.  She completed a fellowship in reproductive endocrinology and infertility at the University of California at Los Angeles, under the tutelage of the highly respected Dr. Alan Decherney who currently serves at the U.S. National Institutes of Health.   She then went on to complete a fellowship at New Jersey’s University of Medicine & Dentistry under Dr. Gerson Weiss, former President of the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology.  Dr. Palta is a leader in her field and has published her research in several journals of obstetrics and gynecology as well as presenting her findings for the Society for Gynecologic Investigations.   She has also published chapters in multiple books on women’s health & fertility.  For more information on her practice in Forest Hills, Queens, visit or call 718.793.7752.
